Temporary Suspension of Church Bells for the Angelus (St. Mary)

Time and weather have taken a toll on the St. Mary Bell Tower. Water damage has led to rotting wood beams and the deterioration of the support structure holding the bells. Without intervention, we risk losing the ability to ring the bells safely.

Out of an abundance of caution, the church bells will no longer ring for the Angelus at St. Mary Parish until further notice. Recent concerns have been raised about the structural integrity of the flooring beneath the bell mechanism, and we are taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of the building and all who use it.

We understand that the ringing of the Angelus is a cherished tradition and a meaningful part of parish life. This decision was not made lightly, but with care for the long-term preservation of the church.

The parish is currently exploring the necessary assessments and repairs. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
