Teacher Appreciation Week: May 4–8

Next week, we celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week—a moment to give thanks for the gift of those who share in the sacred work of teaching.

In the Gospels, we encounter Jesus as Teacher. He meets people where they are, calls forth what is good within them, and patiently leads them toward truth.

In a similar way, our teachers accompany our children each day. They see beyond grades and performance. They recognize the dignity of each child, the unique gifts they’ve been given by God, and also their struggles. They help our students discover not only what they can do, but who they are.

Our mission—to create Catholic leaders through academic excellence, supporting diverse learners, and seeing Jesus in every person—is carried forward by our teachers in both seen and unseen ways.

But the formation of our children is not the work of teachers alone—as a parish family, we are part of this mission.

During this week of appreciation, I invite you to remember our school in your prayers:

Pray for our teachers—that the Lord may renew their strength, deepen their joy, and sustain them in their vocation

Pray for our students—that they may be open to all that is being given to them

Pray that we, as a parish, may continue to support our mission with generosity and faith.
