Show Your ‘Zeal’ for the Seminary

As teaching parishes, St. Anthony and St. Mary have been blessed to share in the formation journey of many young men on the path to priesthood. We will celebrate the ordination to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ of Dcn. Aaron Siehr on May 17, and Dcn. Jason Diebolt, later in May (in Lafayette, Indiana), both of whom we welcomed as seminarians. Then, last summer, Saint Francis de Sales entrusted to us another seminarian in our role as teaching parishes — Spencer Wagner.

St. Mary and St. Anthony are additionally blessed to see our parishioners Charles Pomroy, Jacob Bruns, and Matthew Olson on the path to priestly formation, as well.

These young men are among the 90 currently in formation at the seminary — the most in decades. As a result, the seminary urgently needs to restore and expand its historic campus, which hasn’t been renovated since the 1980s.

Next weekend, we will join all parishes of the archdiocese in Zeal for the Lord’s House, the first-ever campaign for the Seminary. Please take a few minutes to learn about this important initiative.

We are called to offer a generous response to God’s generosity towards us. For this reason, I warmly recommend and fully support the Zeal for the Lord’s House Campaign.  We need holy priests, and the Seminary needs our help to prepare them.

Please pray for the campaign’s success and all of our future priests.
