Sharing Hope with Our Twin Parish in Bethlehem
Our Catholic faith connects us to a family that reaches far beyond our parish walls. On Oct. 17–18, St. Anthony and St. Mary will hold our annual Missionary Cooperation Plan (MCP) collection in support of our twin parish, St. Catherine’s in Bethlehem.
The MCP is an Archdiocese of Milwaukee program that connects local parishes with the Church’s missionary work around the world. Through prayer, learning, and financial support, we answer our call to share the Gospel and care for our brothers and sisters.
Our connection with St. Catherine’s began with a friendship between Notre Dame students Kolbe Schlosser, a St. Anthony parishioner, and Iskandar Salameh from Bethlehem. Their friendship grew into a relationship between our parish communities, offering opportunities to support one another and grow together in faith.
Last year, St. Anthony and St. Mary parishioners generously contributed $18,738, which reached St. Catherine’s before Christmas. This spring, a second collection raised an additional $5,114. Together, these collections represent $23,852 in support for our twin parish.
These contributions help meet practical needs while strengthening education, faith formation, and parish life. St. Catherine’s shared that donations help provide food, electricity, medications, and rent assistance for families in need.
Our twinning relationship is an ongoing commitment to accompany a Catholic community in the birthplace of Jesus. Financial gifts continue to provide meaningful assistance, while our prayers remind St. Catherine’s parishioners that they belong to a wider family of faith.
Please prayerfully consider supporting the Oct. 17–18 collection. Thank you for your continued generosity and sharing Christ’s love with our twin parish. To make a donation or for more information, click the buttons below.
