Thanks for 20 years, Principal Joyner!
After 20 years of service, St. Mary Parish School Principal Linda Joyner announced earlier this week that she will be leaving St. Mary at the end of the 2024-25 school year. Joyner has accepted a new opportunity as principal of St. Mary in Hales Corners.
“For 20 years, Principal Joyner has provided dedicated service to our parish school, leading with passion, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the academic success, personal development, and Catholic formation of students,” said Msgr. Ross Shecterle, parish administrator.
A few highlights on the list of Joyner’s achievements include:
- Receiving “Exemplary Recognition” by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee for the school multiple times. This is a designation schools receive for outstanding achievements in Academic Excellence, Educating the Whole Student, and Mission and Catholic Identity.
- Facilitating the process of St. Mary’s participation in the Wisconsin School Choice Program. A Catholic education at St. Mary is affordable to more students thanks to Principal Joyner’s efforts.
- Spearheading a playground project, the fruits of which will be realized this summer when the equipment is installed
“Principal Joyner has joked that the playground will be her legacy,” Shecterle said, “But I know, as do the parents and students who have been touched by her leadership, that her lasting legacy can be found in the hearts and minds of those she helped form.
Shecterle noted that thought the community is sad to see Principal Joyner leave, we celebrate this great opportunity for her to move forward in her career, and the blessing to propel our school to even greater heights upon the foundation she built.
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the students, staff, and parents for making this journey so fulfilling,” Joyner said. “The memories created and relationships fostered at St. Mary will always hold a special place in my heart. I will dearly miss each and every one of you and the vibrant spirit of this exceptional school community. Thank you for entrusting me with your children and the responsibility of leading this school for the past twenty years.”
